- PROGRAMMES FOR KIDS AND FAMILIES -

Murat Coşkun and Beatriz Picas are passionate about sharing their music with children and adults alike, making it accessible and inspiring for everyone. Their audiences are invited to experience music as a language of the soul and to actively become part of the musical experience. With many years of experience in education and interdisciplinary artistic work, they present two family programmes in which music, rhythm, and creativity come to life in a playful and engaging way.

Both programmes are interactive, educationally designed, and suitable for schools as well as family concerts in cultural centres, festivals, and concert series that aim to foster music, creativity, and shared experiences.

At the end of the concert, a percussion workshop can be offered, where participants create music together using frame drums and voice.

A Thousand and One Sounds

This participatory concert takes children and adults on a journey of sonic discovery. Between grooves, silence, and surprising sound experiments, the audience experiences how music sparks imagination and awakens the joy of making music together.

The audience is invited to create rhythms with their own bodies (body percussion), discover the language of drums, sing along, and open up and share their own world of imagination. Various percussion instruments are introduced, accompanied by exciting guessing games such as: “Which animal skin might be hidden on this drum?”

Cello and voice open up a rich palette of colours and sounds that come alive throughout the concert and lead into small musical stories. Everyday objects and familiar magic spells also appear, reminding us that rhythm and sound can be found and created everywhere.

From attentive listening to dancing — in “A Thousand and One Sounds”, the audience experiences the vibrant music of the Coşkun–Picas duo and becomes an active part of it.

The Forgetful Camel

Did you know that every animal has its own rhythm? Only the poor camel has forgotten its own… So it sets off on a journey to find it again.

Along the way, the camel meets different animals in funny, frightening, joyful, and surprising encounters that turn its search into a true adventure. With each new animal it meets, the camel remembers a piece of its own rhythm — inspired by the sounds and movements of these creatures. Step by step, a musical story unfolds, full of encounters, discoveries, and memories coming back to life.

For many years, Murat Coşkun has drawn inspiration from the animal world to create fascinating rhythmic compositions. Beatriz Picas takes these rhythmic creations and transforms them into imaginative melodies. From this creative collaboration, many musical animal characters have emerged — and the programme “The Forgetful Camel” was born.

Here, complex rhythms and melodies become accessible in a playful way, allowing everyone to participate and easily learn them.

Each animal has its own rhythm, brought to life through rhythm language, voice, body percussion, and cello, and shared with the audience. In this interactive family concert, participants can discover the different sounds of the animals and experiment with rhythms and melodies themselves — so that this time, the camel will not forget its rhythm again!
